Privacy policy
Your documents are yours. We built ClearPDF to handle common PDF tasks in your browser whenever possible.
Files and local processing
Merge, split, rotate, image conversion, page removal/reordering, watermarking, page numbering, batch conversion, and text comparison run locally in your browser. They do not transmit document contents to our servers. Compress, unlock, PDF-to-text, OCR, PDF-to-Word and PDF-to-Excel send the selected PDF to this site's own server. The server stores a temporary working copy only while processing and deletes it after the request finishes. The server tools currently accept PDFs up to 50 MB; configure web-server request limits to match.
Future server tools
Server processing uses self-hosted software on the ClearPDF operator's server; files are not sent to an external conversion API. Server error logs should not include document contents. The operator must configure temporary storage, backups, logs and access controls to uphold the deletion statement.
Ownership and permitted use
You retain ownership of documents you process. You represent that you own the documents or have the necessary rights and permissions to use them. Do not upload, convert, or distribute material unlawfully.
Security and analytics
We aim to collect only service data needed to operate and improve the site. If analytics or advertising are enabled, this page will describe the providers, cookies, and available controls before those services launch.
